Top honor for Deutsche Telekom and iXLink

Wholesale arm of Deutsche Telekom recognized by Global Telecoms Business magazine for changing the course of the telecommunications industry.

Business International (ICSS), the wholesale arm of Deutsche Telekom, together with iXLink, a business unit of interconnect business optimization solutions provider Telarix, were honored last night at the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards in London. The awards acknowledge the most innovative telecommunications achievements that have redefined the present and future course of the industry. ICSS and iXLink won the award in the Wholesale Service Innovation category for creating an open business information exchange service for the telecommunications industry.

The iXLink platform, developed in conjunction with ICSS, reduces costs associated with interconnection while simplifying processes like purchasing, sales, billing and settlement. The service also provides carriers with a common information exchange service for electronic business data and document delivery. This both streamlines interconnection management processes and reduces administrative costs. ICSS was also the first carrier to use the iXLink Price List Receipt to simplify and automate its wholesale interconnect purchase process in 2007, when the service was introduced. Because ICSS and iXLink have worked closely to bring their partners on board, more than 500 carriers worldwide currently use iXLink to exchange business information automatically with other service providers.

A new solution
The innovative solution enables service providers around the world to strengthen their intercarrier relationships and improve their control over interconnect transactions. "By partnering with Telarix, the leading provider of interconnect OSS/BSS solutions, we have created the telecom industry’s first business information exchange, which has fundamentally redefined how the world’s carriers conduct business with one another."
